Merry and Bright in the 'Hood

Christmas is over, but the snow has just arrived!  Here's a few shots of our 'hood, looking very merry and bright :)

Pugs do not go off-road...

...unless there's just no where else to potty.

A Little More Christmas Decor

Because Christmas is all sorts of wonderful, I thought I'd post a few more pictures of the holiday cheer in the Arvin house before Tuesday.

In the last Christmas decor post, I forgot to add a bit about the white tree in our bedroom...

In a couple months, the dining room paint is getting a huge change... but for now, we're living with a little sponge paint :)

This ornament is from a long weekend trip we took to Paris when we were living in Spain a few years ago.  Gives me the travel bug just looking at it!

We try to get a new ornament each year.  The official 2012 ornament is from Silver in the City downtown, and reminds us of the year we bought this big ol' house :)

This one needs no explanation :)

More guest bedroom details coming soon...

We actually had to add another "line" in the dining room... Yay for Christmas cards!

With a little knitting magic, I made a new stocking for Will a couple of weeks ago.  I decided not to make a big post about it, since I'm far from a knitting pro... It's not perfect, but I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

I spent a day baking cookies and covering pretzels with chocolate.  Umm, have I mentioned I love Christmas?

Christmas goody baskets for friends and family...

Speaking of Silver in the City earlier with our 2012 house ornament... I found this gem calling my name there just this week.  A porcelain bird nightlight?  Obviously we were meant to be together.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Holiday DIY: Wall Letters

If you don't remember from before, I'm all about using spray paint to gussy up not-so-cute objects.  This little project was so quick, inexpensive, and simple, too.  Sometimes these big letters can be several dollars a piece, but I found these cardboard letters at Walmart for less than $2 each.  I already had a can of oil-rubbed bronze spray paint in the basement, so I whipped it out to give these guys a makeover.
